I’m a working copywriter. A busy one. But I’m certain that I wouldn’t have the success I enjoy today without two important people.
One was John. He’s a copywriter who reached out to me on a direct response forum when I was a complete newbie. He was full of useful information and advice. And, when he landed a job with copywriting-great Clayton Makepeace, he invited me to lunch with Clayton’s whole team.
It was an amazing opportunity.
When another staff copywriter job came available with Clayton, John was the one who encouraged me to apply. And he was my cheerleader after I landed the job.
His help changed the trajectory of my entire career, and I will always be grateful.
The other person was Clayton himself. In my years working for him, I learned so much. He was the one who taught me to go for those emotional hot buttons. He was the one who pushed me to be the best I could be.
I would not be where I am today without these two men — and without the kindness of other copywriters who have crossed my path.
This blog is one way I want to pass it on.
Throughout the years, I have helped other copywriters. I’ve encouraged them and pointed them to possible niches and opportunities. But with this blog, maybe I can help others. Many others.
That’s my hope, anyway.
So, look through my posts. Maybe there’s something here that can help you along on your copywriting journey.
